We didn't build this because we thought the world needed another website about China. We built it because something changed.

In the last few years, millions of people around the world started doing things they couldn't quite explain. Drinking hot water. Searching for calm. Feeling like somewhere, there was a way of living that made more sense than the one they had.
过去几年，世界各地成千上万的人开始做一些自己也说不太清楚的事。喝热水。追求平静。隐隐觉得在某个地方，有一种活法比手头的生活更对。
The internet gave this a name: "entering your Chinese era."

The name
.ren 就是"人"
The domain is the message. Becoming Chinese isn't about becoming someone else. It's about looking at your own life through the lens of a civilization that has spent five thousand years thinking about how to live — and finding something there that was already in you.
域名本身就是信息。"成为中国人"不是变成另一个人。而是透过一个花了五千年琢磨"怎么活"的文明，重新看一遍自己的生活——然后发现有些东西，本来就在自己身上。

Who we are

We're not academics. We're not tour guides. We're just people who fell in love with a culture and decided to share what we're finding, the way you'd tell a friend — over tea, slowly, with no rush to finish.
我们不是学者，不是导游。我们只是一群爱上了一种文化的人，决定把自己正在发现的东西分享出来——像跟朋友聊天那样，泡着茶，慢慢讲，不赶时间。
What this is not
没有教科书腔。没有宣传腔。没有"古老文明"的陈词滥调。
This isn't a guide to immigration, visas, or how to move to China. There are plenty of those, and they serve their purpose. This is for the part that comes after you've already arrived — whether you've physically moved, or just found yourself googling "why do Chinese people drink hot water" at 2am.
这里不讲移民、签证、怎么搬到中国去住。那些有人做，也很有用。这里是给"已经来了"之后的那部分——不管你真的是搬过来了，还是只是凌晨两点在谷歌搜索"中国人为什么喝热水"。
Stay
这里会慢慢长大。慢，就是重点。
